When LG announced three new G Pad tablets back in May, it remained mum on specs, peculiarly enough. Today it is finally unveiling the tablets fully, and it’s immediately apparent that this lineup is not going to be competing with other high-end tablet offerings anytime soon.
The G Pad 7.0 comes with a 7-inch 1280×800 display, 1.2 GHz quad-core processor, 8GB of internal storage (with microSD expansion capabilities), rear-firing 3MP camera, 4000 mAh battery, and comes in four colors — black, white, luminous orange, and luminous blue.
All that changes between the G Pad 7.0 and the G Pad 8.0 is the screen size, internal memory size, camera resolution, and battery size. This model has an 8-inch display, 16GB of internal storage (also with microSD expansion), 5MP rear shooter, and 4200 mAh battery.
The change between the G Pad 8.0 and the G Pad 10.1 is also not too notable — only the battery size and colors change. There is an 8000 mAh battery, and the tablet is available in black and red color variants.
QPair 2.0, which we covered more extensively in ourinitial post, is present on these devices as a convergence platform between Android smartphones and tablets. This is similar to inter-iOS device Continuity features from Apple. Other features of LG’s custom UI include Knock Code, Smart Keyboard, and Dual Window (for split-screen multitasking).
The G Pad 7.0 will be rolling out in European regions this week, with the other two tablets following it in the coming weeks. As for other regions, availability will be announced separately. We still do not know pricing details, though we expect to hear more soon.
