LGG3 LEAKS.

With about a week to go until LG’s G3 launch event, the leaks continue to pile up in earnest. Last week we saw such images depicting a circular widget on the phone’s lockscreen – it even featured in an official invitation from LG. Today, a gallery of new screengrabs has been released that identifies this feature as the next phase of LG’s Quick Window, and shows even more of what it can do.
Beyond just the clocks that we’ve seen so far, this G3 Quick Window leak depicts call notifications, app quick launch shortcuts, weather info, data from fitness trackers, and more. As if the Quick Window name itself wasn’t enough to clue us in on what’s going on, both the way the UI we see here is tailored for this circular cutout and the unchanging position of that circle between screens suggests that we’re looking at a new Folio Case arriving alongside the G3, but now with a circular window, as opposed to the rectangle the G2′s got.
That’s certainly one way to make the G3 stand out, and while it might not be the most effective use of screen real estate, we imaging interacting with it could be quite intuitive – think about navigating through iPods in years back with the click wheel – and though we don’t see anything quite like that here, that ring of apps has us intrigued by the possibilities.
