Even though we’re just a couple of weeks away from WWDC 2014, and with all the rumors that Apple will launch iOS 8 at the event, the amount of bugs that are still being reported with iOS 7.1.1 is quite significant for Apple to ignore. Customers have complained continuously about major battery draining issues with the recent update, but it seems that Apple plans to target some additional security and reliability issues with a software update very soon.
Reports have it that we should keep a lookout for iOS 7.1.2, and that this software update plans to patch two major bugs that are quite public already. The first one being the iMessage bug, which has switchers to Android and Windows Phone not receiving any more text messages, as these are obviously going through iMessage if the source is using an iOS device. The other bug is to patch the issues with attachments not being encrypted when being sent through email, which is a problem that was reported ever since the original launch of iOS 7.
At this moment it’s hard to predict if the software update will be pushed in the next coming days, but we do hope that the battery draining bugs and overheating issues are also addressed with it.
