Samsung to make galaxy virtual reality headset's.

If there’s one thing we’ve got to commend Samsung for, is for taking R&D so seriously, they actually launch some of the products even if they won’t be hits. Succeeding examples are the Galaxy Note line-up, which we all mocked when originally launched, and which we all ended-up using and loving afterwards. Today we hear that Samsung is up-to something bigger and badder, and it has everything to do with competing with the Oculus Rift.
Rumors have it that Samsung is building a Virtual Reality headset to compete with the Oculus Rift, but with the idea of using your Galaxy device as its source. Obviously this would fall into another product offering of Samsung’s current Gear line-up, and with the purpose of giving you a more immersive gaming experience.
When it comes to hardware, the rumors mention that the device will sport an OLED display that’s just as good as what we find on the Oculus Rift, though oddly, it seems that the device will require a wired connection to your Galaxy phone, as the amount of bandwidth required for communication is substantial.
The coolest part of this rumor is that Samsung plans to launch this product this year, so as awkward as it sounds, or as awesome as it could be, at least Samsung is willing to give it a try.
