Next iOS product maybe made from an liquid metal.

Even though this is not Terminator 2, we do remember that Apple landed an exclusive deal with Liquidmetal Technologies almost four years ago. The odd thing though, is that at the moment, the only Apple product that we know of that uses this technology is the SIM ejector tool of the iPhone. We’ve tired to predict what Apple’s plans are with this unique metal, and even though that’s still tough to figure-out, at least we’ve just learned that there is still some intention.
In a recent SEC filing, Apple and Liquidmetal have extended their exclusive agreement for another year. Apple doesn’t really own the company, but it does own exclusive rights to the product until February 2015. Many have predicted that Apple wants to use this metal for a future iOS product, or even an OS X product, though the fact that the deal is only being extended for an extra year doesn’t sound right.
Whatever the case may be, we do remember that Liquidmetal inventor Atakan Peker did state in 2012 that Apple was at least 3-5 years away from actually doing anything with the product at a large scale.
