After recently announcing the OPPO R5 and N3, the Chinese phone manufacturer just made official another device, the OPPO R1C (a successor to the R1S). Yet another phone is being rumored to be in the works, the OPPO U3, with a slim form factor and 4x optical zoom, but this particular phone is, for the moment, just a report.
The OPPO R1C however, as rumored, will have a sapphire edition — GizmoChina notes that you can see your reflection on the back of the phone from every angle — as well as a non-sapphire, white version. It packs a five-inch 720p display and is powered by the 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor clocked at 1.5GHz. It also features 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, expandable via microSD card up to 128GB. The main shooter on the OPPO R1C is a 13MP unit with Sony IMX214 sensor and an f/2.0 aperture, while the front-facer is a five-megapixel system. Everything is powered by Android 4.4-based Color OS 2.0.1 and a 2,420mAh battery, and packed in a 6.85mm thin housing.
It will cost 2,499RMB (or about $400), and will be available in China starting January 20.
