Apple to hold its iPhone 6 event on September 9?

There is a ton of speculation around the possible launch of Apple’s next generation iPhone 6. Recent reports claimed that the company couldn’t decide on a final date because of the possible delays of the bigger 5.5-inch iPhone 6 variant. Others claimed that it was a strategic move for the phablet to launch until December. More rumors today have given additional credibility to a specific date for a September announcement, and this time it seems final.
Credible sources are saying that Apple has already decided on a announcement for the iPhone 6 on September 9th, and with shipments arriving to customers as early as the following Friday, September 19th. Apple has historically announced the iPhone 5 and the iPhone 5s/5c in early September, and with shipments arriving 10 days later, so there is a possibility that these rumors are the closes to what we should expect to happen next month.
It’s hard to predict if Apple will use this same event to announce the 5.5-inch iPhone 6, and leave the launch until December as rumored, but given the track record of the source, we can at least expect one iPhone 6 model to be announced that date.
