To say that situation surrounding Motorola’s follow-up to the Moto X has become a confusing one might be an understatement. Despite the arrival of videos very clearly depicting an unreleased Motorola Android, we’ve also seen what appears to be much more of a lower-end model attach itself to rumors of this Moto X+1, making it a bit tricky to work out just which phone’s which. Could this higher-end phone be something new altogether, or is Motorola really bumping-up the specs for the Moto X’s second coming? There’s one new piece to the puzzle for us to look at tonight, as an incomplete retailer listing for the X+1 appears.
Incomplete? So what good does that do us? Can any of it be trusted? You’re right to be cautious, but the Brazilian site this info appears on has been spotted posting pre-release info on Motorola handsets before, so it might well be worth paying attention to.
Here, the X+1 is described as having a 5.2-inch 1080p display, a Snapdragon 800, 12MP main camera with 5MP front-facer, 2GB of RAM, 32GB storage (with microSD expansion), and a 2900 mAh battery – a big leap up from the Moto X.
So is this what the X+1 is going to be? Like we said: maybe. At least some of these details are in line with previous leaks, but the risk that we’ve been looking at dissimilar hardware all under the guise of this same X+1 banner has us searching hard for some more emphatic evidence to arrive.
