It’s hard not to commend Google for the job the company has been doing in enhancing the services we consume through Android and even iOS at times. We’ve seen frequent updates to services likeGoogle Now and YouTube over the last couple of weeks, and today Gmail takes a turn at some enhancements. The company is pushing an update that will provide you with a couple of new enhancements, including some Google Driveintegration.
The way Gmail and Google Drive will work together going forward is that you can attach Google Drive files easily while you’re composing an email. Google will then detect if the recipients you’ve chosen have access to these Google Drive files, or will give you the option to provide them with access. This is very similar to what we see today in Mailbox and Dropbox, so in case you’re more of a Google Drive user, the new Gmail app will be better fit to serve your needs. The update also includes faster autocomplete suggestions of contacts as you add them on the To, Cc and Bcc fields, aside from other minor enhancements.
The update starts rolling out today, though it’s hard to predict when your device will receive the update. Just keep refreshing Google Play in case this is something you’ve been waiting for.
