When Samsung launches a new flagship, it generally looks to milk all the money it can out of different models. We saw that with the Galaxy S5 Active. We saw that yet again with the Galaxy S5 LTE-A (or “Prime”), which we recently unboxed. The latest model which could be in the cards — Tizen Galaxy S5 test models have reportedly made their way over to India.
The first Tizen smartphone, the Samsung Z, was pretty solid spec-wise. A 4.8-inch display (720p, which disappointed some), 2.3 GHz SoC, 2GB of RAM, and an 8MP rear camera made for a decent package, but y0u can’t go wrong with even better specs, can you?
A couple things make it fairly clear that these are just test devices at this point. A list price of about $900, and the fact that only three of these Tizen Galaxy S5 units have been shipped outside of South Korea (in this particular batch), have us thinking that.
It is, however, quite possible that this could come to fruition — Samsung isn’t really afraid of launching new phones, evidently. We let the question fall to you: does a Tizen Galaxy S5 interest you in the slightest, or has the current-gen one (or the “Prime”) tided you over?
