Even though the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 has been updated to the latest-and-greatest version of Android, its version of TouchWiz is different to the one we see on the Galaxy S5. Samsung obviously updates legacy devices over time, but it seems that the company has decided to follow a different approach with the Galaxy Note 3. A new software update is rolling out today, and it brings some welcome changes.
The software update which is now available for Galaxy Note 3 devices in the UK, and also the Snapdragon 800 version brings two key features that already exist on the Galaxy S5. The first feature is KNOX 2.0, Samsung’s security software that should allow companies to bring an extra level of enterprise-level protection to the Samsung devices deployed to employees. Obviously any KNOX update is not a welcome feature to those of you who plan to root any Samsung phone, so just keep that in mind with the update.
One feature that is welcome is Samsung’s Download Booster, which allows you to take full advantage of LTE connectivity for faster download speeds.
Just remember that these updates take some time to reach every region, so today is a good time to refresh your “Software Update” section.
