iOS 8 beta 3 may not arrive till July 8th.

Apple isn’t really committed to a specific timeframe when it comes to its beta releases of iOS for developers, but there’s somewhat of a trend. With the launch of iOS 7, iOS 6 and even iOS 5, we all noticed that the trend would start with weekly releases, which would later expand to bi-weekly releases as the final release was getting close. iOS 8 has proven to be a different animal though, and the beta 3 of iOS 8 might be another example.
Even though most of us were expecting iOS 8 beta 3 to launch tomorrow, reports have it that it won’t reach developers until Tuesday, July 8th, which is two weeks from now, and three weeks away from the current release. Obviously the report doesn’t shed some light as to why, but given the fact that there are still a ton of services in iOS 8 that don’t work, it would make sense to delay the release and get things working.
iOS 8 has gained a lot of popularity because of how well it interacts with OS X, and also because of how it paves the road for Apple’s health offerings this fall. Hopefully iOS 8 beta 3 will be closer to the final release.
