Last September saw the team behind CyanogenMod gather up its resources and formally incorporate, founding Cyanogen Inc. That’s paved the way for new business opportunities, like the official Oppo N1 CyanogenMod support, and eventually the CyanogenMod-from-the-ground-upOnePlus One. As the company grows into its new role, it’s picking up some additional staff to add their talents to its resources, and today we hear about the hiring of a few new execs with some big-name experience in the mobile tech industry.
Cyanogen adds three new VPs to its lineup. The new VP of Engineering, Tyler Carper, comes from a stint at HTC, where he served as the company’s Director of Engineering. Dave Herman joins Cyanogen as the new VP of Product, following roles at Amazon and Microsoft. For its new VP of Global Partnerships & Distribution, Cynanogen looks to Vik Natarajan, former VP of Corporate Marketing at chipmaker MediaTek.
The variety of experience in this group sound pretty promising for Cyanogen, with these execs familiar with mobile software, services, and hardware – and for a company that’s growing from its pure-software roots to work with manufacturers and other companies, established names like these should help ease some of its growing pains.
