If you want one of the best values in Android phones around, the being-sold-at-cost OnePlus One, you’re going to need an invite. Over the weekend we shared with you some of the specifics behind how these invitations would work, including how OnePlus was making them available to participants in its user forums, as well as plans to award invites as prizes to participants in upcoming contests. Today we see the arrival of the first such contest, giving you a chance to score a One invite of your own.
For what it’s calling the “It’s Raining Invites” contest, OnePlus invites potential buyers to enter up to eight chances to win an invite, by performing simple tasks – things like following OnePlus on social media or answering some easy questions – the more you complete, the more chances to win. In a little under four days, OnePlus will cease accepting submissions and will choose 150 winners to get an invitation to purchase the One in its 64GB sandstone black configuration.
There’s already a lot of interest in this contest, so while the odds may be stacked against you, this is far from your only chance to snag an invite; expect more contests and promotions to be announced in the weeks to come.
