The LG G3 may be the company’s next product that’s got everyone’s attention, and we just brought you the new official teaser video to keep your interest up as we approach the company’s May 27 launch event, but that’s not the only new hardware from LG we’ve been waiting for. And no, we’re nottalking about the G Watch, either; instead, we’re turning back the clock to CES in January, when LG announced its Lifeband Touch fitness tracker. While the band may have gone official all the way back then, it’s taken its sweet time in getting to market, and only today does LG reveal its retail plans for the wearable.
Sales of the Lifeband Touch begin in the US this coming Sunday, May 18. Following that, sales will spread to Europe in Asia in the weeks to come.
The wearable features a 0.9-inch 128 x 32 OLED display and is powered by a 90mAh battery, for what LG says should give you about five days of use between charges. LG isn’t being forthcoming with pricing details, but we’ve previously heard figures in the $180 range attached to the Lifeband Touch.
Additionally, LG is releasing its Heart Rate Earphones, which monitor your pulse while playing music. They can relay that data over Bluetooth to either a phone running LG’s Fitness App or send it directly to the Lifeband Touch itself.
