The days are counting down fast until next week’sLG G3 launch event, and despite how much about the phone that’s already emerged thanks to the many leaks we’ve seen to date, more information just keeps coming. Following up last night’s news about some possible pricing, we check out a trio of new G3 finds, including some details on the phone’s dimensions.
Those come to us courtesy of Spigen’s new G3 case, and while the listing for the accessory doesn’t directly reveal the G3′s size, the case measurements it offers can be used to come up with a likely guess. One theory is that the G3 will measure about 141.8mm tall by 73mm wide, and could be 9.3mm thick. While that would place it a smidge thicker than some of its competition, the One M8 is of comparable size, so we’re not too, too worried.
Next we’ve got some official G3 action from LG itself, as the company prepares a landing page for the phone on its UK website. While there’s precious little there at the moment, it does manage to confirm the phone’s model number as D855.
At least, that’s the version the UK will get, and we see the similar model number D850 pop up at the FCC where the phone receives its certification paperwork. There’s nothing really juicy in the docs (like when we occasionally see a trove of imagery accidentally made available to the public a little early), but this is still a development we like to see, and has us hopeful that sales of the phone may begin shortly following LG’s announcement.
Check back with us next Tuesday, May 27, for full coverage of LG’s launch event.
