iOS 8 iPad's to get split screen multitasking.

Ever since the launch of the original iPad, one of the biggest complaints that we’ve all had, is that in most cases, all you’re getting is a bloated smartphone UI. Surely developers can take advantage of the extra canvas with added features on the SDK, but that doesn’t mean that we wouldn’t want to use more than one app at a time. Competitors like Samsung and Microsoft have tried different approaches to this that have been quite popular, and Apple seems to be trying it next with iOS 8.
Rumors have it that Apple will bring split-screen multitasking to iOS 8. The feature is said to even allow easy interaction between applications, in a way to help you drag text or content easily between windows as well. Now, according to the rumor, this is mostly focused on the 9.7-inch iPad as well, which is odd given that both the iPad Air and iPad mini with Retina Display both have the same amount of pixels on their displays.
It’s hard to tell if this feature will work out-of-the-box with iOS 8, or if developers will have to optimize applications to support the feature. Whatever the case may be, it’s long overdue at a time when we all want to find more productivity in our tablet investment.
