Sony Xperia Z4 makes another regulatory appearance

Rumors came and went of the Sony Xperia Z4’s debut at CES 2015 but that never materialized, unfortunately, so we’re left hoping to see what the company has up its sleeve for 2015 at Mobile World Congress in early March instead. And if this Sony Xperia Z4 FCC pit-stop is to be noted, it seems likely that the phone will see a global launch soon.
The phone that’s passed through the FCC identifies itself as Type Number PM-0850-BV, and FCC ID PY7-PM0850, and XperiaBlog seems to believe that this is the Z4 we’ve had our eyes on. It has firmware build number 25.0.A.0.33, slightly different than the Xperia Z3 series’s Lollipop number.
We’re told the device supports LTE bands 2, 5, and 7, but are pretty much left in the dry with regard to information about the phone itself as far as this leak is concerned. This isn’t the first regulatory agency that Sony’s pushed through recently – Blog of Mobile reports that the same phone went through Japan’s Ministry of International Affairs and Communications – so we’re hoping that a launch is in the cards for very soon down the road, hopefully at Barcelona when we’re in town for Mobile World Congress early in March.
