Sony teases its new Lollipop UI in screenshots By Jaime Rivera | January 22, 2015 2:52 PM 0

Sony has proven to have a great track record with Android software updates, ever since the company said goodbye to the old Sony Ericsson brand. Even today, we’ve seen the company update legacy flagships like the first Xperia Z, and its timing for updates is also competitive. We’ve seen the company tease its Android 5.0Lollipop launch in the past, but today we get more visuals.
For better or for worse, Android 5.0 Lollipop brings changes to the visual aspect of the navigation keys. At the moment only a few OEMs have pushed their Lollipop updates to the masses, and those that use soft navigation keys have mostly abided to Google’s way of doing things. That being said, it seems OEMs are free to make their own tweaks, just like we saw with previous versions of Android. Today Sony has updated its Movie Creator application, and if you dig within the screenshots, you’ll notice new software navigation buttons that resemble more of what we see with Lollipop.
We’re still waiting to learn more on this Sony update, and hopefully MWC 2015 sheds some light.
