Project ARA Release News: Make-Your-Own Smartphone of the Future, Release Date, Specs, Features, and Price of the Upcoming Google Innovation
Project ARA, Google's latest competitive innovation, is ready to stand out among other leading smartphones today. Its interlocking modules or parts allow you to change and swap different phone components. It's basically a customizable smartphone.
It's been almost 3 years since the ARA project rumor started, but during Google's developer conference in April, the project was confirmed. Project ARA should arrive sometime in January 2015, with the earliest possible prototype leaks in December this year.
Just imagine what this means to the future of smartphones; you may no longer need a new smartphone to satisfy a new technological want. You can buy different modules or components instead of getting the latest smartphone.
The Lego smartphone allows you to change smartphone parts without a restart, while Google continuously modifies the phone's OS in the future to allow further swapping features. For now, the phone will run on Google's Android L, the company's latest OS. What's morAs for the price, the first ARA smartphone Grey" will only cost you $50. It will come with a screen, a processor, a frame, and a Wi-Fi device. Think of it as a start-up kit. You can later add and remove its parts as you wish, including a camera. Personalize it to your liking.

Once Project ARA hits the market, the phones will be available on a new online store, looking like the Google Play Store.
