HTC has been on a launch streak lately, and even though we don’t know how well that has played for the company in specifics, we do know that it is making some profit. We’ve seen the company trying hard to re-invent the mid-tier smartphone sector with compelling specs and design at a more affordable price tag, and we’ve also seen it enter theportable camera market. If you’re wondering what’s next for HTC, the answer is to improve what already exists.
A new leak shows us how HTC silently published and pulled the information of a new HTC Design 820 Mini in the works. The Desire 820 is branded as a mid-tier phone, but it does sport better specs than most of the mid-tiered phones in the market, at the cost of being a monstrous device. The Desire 820 Mini was discovered to be smaller, though not really a mini phone with a 5-inch 720p display, a 1.2GHz quad-core processor instead of the 64-bit processor we find in its bigger sibling. Other specs mentioned include 1GB of RAM, a 5 megapixel front-facing camera along with an 8 megapixel camera at the back, and finally 8GB of expandable storage via microSD.
We have no HTC events in our radar yet, but we’ll keep you posted on the possible future of this device.
