Lenovo Vibe Z2 Pro mini leaks; will it also launch this week?

he time when we’re talking about Lenovo and smartphones, it’s in reference to the company’s acquisition of Motorola. But once in a while, there still manages to be a pure Lenovo phone that manages to catch our eye, and for the past few months we’ve been tracking this K920, the company’s Vibe Z2 Pro. A teaser has sure suggested that the quite high-end Android could launch at an event tomorrow, August 5, and now we’re getting our first look at a possible relative, with the leak of an apparent Vibe Z2 Pro mini.

And from what little we can see, it certainly looks the part of a shrunken-down Vibe Z2 Pro, maintaining the same rear component layout. Considering that the Z2 Pro itself is supposed to have a six-inch display, “mini” here doesn’t necessarily mean the same as it would for a phone like the GS5, and this Z2 Pro mini (which may just launch as the Z2 mini, sans-Pro) would still have a display measuring-in around five inches.

What we don’t have yet, though, is a great sense of specs, and it’s unclear if this mini phone will pack the same top-shelf silicon as its bigger brother (Snapdragon 801, 3GB RAM). We also don’t have any firm launch info, though it’s hard to see this leak arrive today and not think about the launch scheduled for tomorrow; could we get both the Z2 Pro and this mini version? Or maybe the mini would debut in another month or two – IFA’s right around the corner.
