New hardware destined for Verizon has found itself at the center of quite of stories we’ve brought you lately. For instance, there was that leak earlier this week that sure seemed to reveal Verizon’s plans to train staff on an incoming Sony Xperia Z2. We’ve also been on the lookout for news of the start ofVerizon LG G3 sales, as all three other major carriers have already announced their plans. There’s still nothing official just yet, but today a series of Verizon rumors attempts to shed some light on what’s just about to go down at big red.
Word is that Verizon will announce the start of G3 pre-orders tomorrow, with the phone finally arriving on July 17. It would sell for just about $200 on contract, but a half-off sale (which may also be announced tomorrow) would give users a 50% discount on the G3 or other flagship models. We could also see the G Watch make its appearance at the carrier.
As for the Xperia Z2, it’s looking like some wires might have been crossed with that earlier leak, and it instead could be a reference to the Xperia Z2Tablet, rather than the phone. We had already heard that Verizon was interested in this device, and the image you see above, pulled from a Verizon test site, adds support to this idea of upcoming availability. Reportedly, pre-orders will begin tomorrow with the tablet landing on July 17, just like with the G3.
Update: Verizon’s gone official with its Xperia Z2 Tablet news. Still nothing on the G3.
