Lumia cyan update bricking windows 8.1 dev preview devices.

Both the Windows Phone 8.1 and the Lumia Cyanupdates have barely reached some Nokia Windows Phones in the market, and already some customers are experiencing issues. These updates both intend to bring your current Nokia Lumia device up to date with Microsoft’s latest software and features, but it seems that if you decided to give these features a try early, you might be in for a little trouble. There is a thread on the Nokia support forums where certain users have been left with a bricked device after trying to install the update, but it seems that certain specific conditions have been met by those affected.
According to the thread on Nokia Support, those users who updated their Lumia devices to theWindows Phone 8.1 Developer Preview are the ones who are affected by trying to update to the official build of Windows Phone 8.1 and the final version of Lumia Cyan. In addition to this, this problem only seems to affect those of you with BitLocker encryption, which is mainly something that those who use a Windows Phone in a corporate environment will see.
If you’re among those affected by this, the easiest way to fix the problem today is to reset your Windows Phone by using the Nokia software suite. Sadly that means losing all of your content, so if that’s something you don’t want to experience, we suggest you keep an eye on the source link for further development on the issue.
