LG smart keyboard gets a new update.

One of the most important parts of the smartphone user experience is the keyboard — sure, you can swap it out for a custom offering on Android, but the average user probably won’t look to do that. To that end, LG has had one of the better offerings. We praised the Smart Keyboard in our G3 review for the feature allowing you to quickly resize it, and now it’s picking up new tricks in the latest LG Smart Keyboard update.
Five main new features have been added: Emoji Suggestion, Application-based Text Tone Suggestion, Next Word Suggestion, Bilingual Word Suggestion, and Real-time Path Input. Emoji suggestion will deliver appropriate emoticons as suggestions for certain words — type in “love,” and you can quickly insert a heart.
Application-based Text Tone Suggestion will change recommendations based on which app you’re using. If you start emails with “Hi” and Hangouts messages with “Yo,” it’ll suggest those accordingly. Next Word Suggestion is fairly self-explanatory; it’ll be smarter about guessing what you want to type next.
Bilingual Word Suggestion means that the keyboard is smart enough to know what language you want to type in without changing languages in any settings menus. Real-time Path Input is a fancy way of saying “swipe typing,” just as apps such as Google’s keyboard and SwiftKey have offered for quite a while now.
The update for G3 users will begin its push to the masses after the phone completes its global rollout.
