LG sure seems interested in adding some new members to the LG G3 family, and just last week we saw some images of the G3 Beat for China. But was that five-inch handset the “G3 Mini” we’d been talking about, or a fully separate G3 spin-off? We’re still looking for an answer there, but even with that question open-ended, new details on LG’s plans continue to arrive, and today we check out a leak that claims to reveal the LG G3S.
According to @evleaks, this is the device we’ve been calling the G3 Mini, and at least the one we’re looking at here will be have dual SIM support – that seems supported by a SIM-swapping icon among the Android buttons depicted here.
But is this the same hardware as the Beat or not? Will we really get a five-inch display, or could that earlier evidence pointing to a 4.5-inch screen be accurate? Based on the images we’ve seen of the G3 Beat, this line art depiction does seem to generally match – the spacing of elements like the front-facing camera is much more consistent with the G3 Beat than the G3 proper. Then again, a slightly smaller handset in the same vein as the Beat might maintain the same layout.
That leaves us without a strong conclusion to draw, so for the moment we’ll just have to be happy with that G3S name, and keep looking for new info to surface.
