Apple hasn’t been famous for being first at anything it has ever done. We know it didn’t invent the computer, nor the smartphone, nor the MP3 player, and especially not the haptic feedback that we’ve been enjoying on smartphones since the early days of Windows Mobile. Still, Apple is famous for perfecting existing products and services in ways competitors have a hard time replicating, and it seems that the company’s next frontier is haptic feedback.
Reports from Asia claim that the iPhone 6 will include a new tactile motor that will apparently cost twice as much as the one found in the iPhone 5s. What makes this new motor special is that it’ll apparently provide a more complex and realistic experience when it comes to tactile feedback as you interact with your iPhone 6′s display.
It’s hard to confirm if this report is true, but there are patents that Apple filed almost three years ago, which included newer way so to provide tactile feedback to its iOS products. A larger iPhone 6 would make this feature easier to include as well.
How important is tactile feedback to you? Some of us disable it to save battery life, or because it can annoy, but let us know in the comments.
