Android Wear gets an update already.

Android Wear devices are only just getting into the hands of users. If you got your order in the minute the watches hit Google Play, your shipment may be on its way to your doorstep right now, and devs who attended Google I/O have already brought their smartwatches home. With the Android Wear floodgates now open, the wearables are quickly starting to fall into the same sort of routine we’re used to from Android phones, and as if to prove that point, a pair of software updates has already become available.
Both the LG G Watch and the Samsung Gear Live are receiving small updates bringing the watches up to Android 4.4W build KMV78V. We haven’t heard of any specific changes present in either update, and both are understood to mainly be of the bugfix variety – no new functionality that anyone’s noticed.
The fact that both of these models have seen their updates arrive nearly simultaneously may be a good sign of things to come from Google and Android Wear, and without any carriers getting in the way, we could well be looking forward to a Nexus-like situation where updates are swift to arrive and broadly available. And with no OEM skins to get in the way, configuring updates for specific devices could be a whole lot easier on the engineers than what they face with phones.
