The OnePlus One may be out, but with new, unexpected delays arriving at seemingly every juncture, it sure is taking the upstart a while to actually get the phone into eager customer hands. But eventually, it will manage, and the company will find itself looking to what’s next for it. Another high-end, low-priced smartphone? Maybe a wearable? A new leak out this afternoon paints the picture of the OnePlus putting together a tablet, as we come across the name “OnePlus Tab.”
That name appears on what seems to be an internal testing version of the OnePlus website, and unlike the nav bar on the publicly accessible site, this one shows a OnePlus Tab squeezed in between the OnePlus One and the site’s accessory listings.
For the moment, that name is all we’ve got; no images of the tablet have leaked just yet, nor any specifics as to its hardware configuration. That has us quite curious to learn what OnePlus might be thinking so far as making its tablet stand out from the pack – far more so than with smartphones, the tablet market already has a lot of strong players in the budget space, and OnePlus may struggle to differentiate its offerings. The company also has to live down these availability issues that have plagued the One, so it might have quite a bit of proving to do.
Update: OnePlus’s official response statement: “No tablet coming out – photo was photoshopped.”
