Sony gives ota updates to its phone's.

When did Sony become the manufacturer to compete against when it comes to delivering timely Android platform updates to its smartphone lineup? Lately it’s felt like Motorola had the upper hand in that department, quickly getting Google’s latest releases out to its near-stock handsets, but Sony might be raising the bar even higher this week, as it distributes Android 4.4.4 updates to a number of its smartphones.
Granted, Android 4.4.4 isn’t a big update itself, butit only even started rolling out for Nexus models a week ago, so to see an OEM ready so soon with updates of its own is pretty darn impressive, size of the update notwithstanding.
Currently, Sony Android 4.4.4 updates have been confirmed for the Xperia Z1, Z Ultra, and Z1 Compact. They’ve been spotted coming down for devices in Asia and Europe, so users in those areas should be on the lookout for update notifications.
Hopefully it won’t be long before other Sony models (like the Z2) join them, and if some other OEMs would like to make with the 4.4.4 updates of their own, that would be nice, too – maybe they can take a few notes from Sony.
