We started off the week taking a look at some of the latest pics purporting to reveal Apple’s work on its next iPhone, revealing a very slim metal frame. And unlike the company’s designs in years past, this time the phone’s Apple logo was cut all the way through; was this really a part that would end up forming the body of the iPhone 6? Today we get some added corroboration as a few new pics emerge, once again revealing that same look for the phone’s rear panel.
That Apple logo cut-out may end up being used for some sort of antenna purposes – exactly how, we can’t yet say, but with rumors about both NFC and wireless charging, it sounds like the iPhone 6 might have a much greater need for antennas than previous generations. Those plastic lines along the back are expected to be antenna-related, as well.
We also see a few shots posted to Weibo by Taiwanese celebrity Jimmy Lin, where he appears to compare the iPhone 6 with the current-gen iPhone 5S. Unfortunately we don’t get to see the 6 powered-on, making us wonder just how complete this model might be (and certainly, we’ve seen dummy units out there), but Lin’s shared early peeks at Apple hardware in the past, so there’s a fair chance we’re looking at the real deal here.
