iOS 7.1.2 update out.

We’re a little over two months removed from the release of iOS 7.1.1, and a lot’s happened since then. The attention of devs and users alike may be soundly focused on iOS 8 by this point, but in the days leading up to WWDC 2014, we picked up on the rumor that a new 7.1.2 update was imminent. It may have taken a little longer than we expected to get here, but today finally brings word that 7.1.2 is arriving for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch models.

The release is Apple’s build 11D257, and the OTA weighs-in at a little over 30 megs. So what’s new? Well, that problem with mail attachments not properly encrypting has been nipped in the bud, as have issues plaguing iBeacon connectivity and stability. There are also fixes in place that improve communication with certain accessories.

What about that old iMessage glitch, where messages were getting lost and mis-routed as users switched platforms? While that was one of the most anticipated changes rumored for 7.1.2, we’ve yet to see confirmation that it’s part of today’s release; if and when we hear something for sure, we’ll update you with the details.
