If you are prone to losing things, and own a Bluetooth 4.0 device you keep with you at all times, listen up. Nokia’s Treasure Tag is finally available, the little gadget that you can place on any items to let you know if you are moving away from them.
The device will emit an audio signal if you are moving away from your tagged item, and so will your Lumia, and the app will let you know where exactly you lost connection with your tagged item on a map. You can have up to four Treasure Tags connected to your Lumia at once.
Treasure Tags will come in four colors – cyan, yellow, white and black — and bear a suggested retail price of $29.90 (€24,90). It is now available globally (except for China), and, in the United States, Verizon Wireless is stocking the devices in three different colors.
Nokia has also announced a little brother for the Treasure Tag, the Treasure Tag Mini. It has half the thickness of the full Treasure Tag, and everything else looks to be the same. There seems to be no reason not to opt for this device over its older sibling except the fact that it will be available only in the coming months. The recommended retail price is $16.90 (€14,90).
