Whenever someone comes up with an innovative idea, Samsung’s on hand to copy it, right? It seems so, at least in this South Korean patent application. The company has trademarked “Gear Blink,” which could potentially mean a Google Glass competitor is en route from Samsung.
The trademark application does not offer up any juicy details regarding the device itself, but hey, we at least possibly have a name now. Previously, we referred to the device as “Gear Glass” and “Galaxy Glass,” because of older leaks.
Samsung has applied for many patents in the smart eyewear industry, so we could be fairly close to seeing an official device soon. The latest leak pegs the release date as alongside the Galaxy Note 4, which we are fully expecting to see this fall.
