In a move that shocked many, Dong Nguyenremoved his incredibly popular brainchild from both Google Play and Apple’s app store just a few short months ago. It seems he is finally ready to bring Flappy Bird back late this summer, even with new game modes in tow — but does anyone even care?
Nguyen appeared on CNBC’s Closing Bell to make the announcement, and told the world that the app would be returning, albeit in a less addictive manner (whatever that’s supposed to mean).
The other surprising news from Nguyen’s reveal is the fact that the revised game will come with a new game mode — multiplayer. Currently, we cannot exactly picture how this may work, but we could see pretty intuitive wireless gaming put into play here.
Nguyen says to expect the app to return in August, and we can’t help but think that we will likely have moved on to the next great addiction by then (Make It Rain, anyone?).
Anyone excited to have their Flappy Bird fix back?
